We have been talking about a lot of superpowers, but what about the power to freeze everything instantly?
I came across the coolest science experiment and I had to share it with you because it will give you the ability to freeze liquid water in seconds! Basically, you get the water as close to freezing as possible without actually freezing it, and then when you take it out and shake it, the water molecules are able to attach to each other and create ice.
Prepare to be amazed and have your Lil’ feeling all-powerful.
This science experiment will have your Lil’ working on making predictions and observations.

*Bottle of Purified Water

Step #1
Place a bottle of water in the freezer for an hour and 45 minutes.

I recommend you place 2-3 bottles in the freezer so you have more opportunities for success.

Set a timer on the water because you HAVE to take it out of the freezer before it turns to ice.

Step #2
Take the bottle of water out of the freezer and be fairly gentle with it.
Step #3
When you are ready, slam the bottom of the bottle on the table. A reaction should occur causing the water to freeze over instantly.

It took my bottle a few hits to react.

Teacher Tip

We did have to try this activity a few times before we reached success. However, the first time we tried without success, the kids turned this activity into a water and ice sensory play activity and they were equally as happy with that so if you’re unsuccessful, no worries. You can have a Super Freeze sensory activity instead!
